Puppies should be wormed every two weeks until twelve weeks of age, then monthly until six months of age. After six months all dogs need to be wormed every three months for effective protection.
Your puppy's first vaccination is generally recommended at about eight weeks of age, with a second dose at 10-12 weeks. Subsequently, annual booster vaccinations are needed to maintain your dog's immunity.
Gently hold the dog's mouth open and place the pill as far back in the dog's mouth as it will go. Next, the animal's mouth must be held closed, nose pointing up, until it swallows. Rubbing the dog's throat in a downward motion can encourage the animal to swallow the medicine.
Have your dog's teeth professionally cleaned once every six months. Annual cleaning will suffice if there are no other health considerations detected during regular examinations. If your pet is comfortable with you cleaning his or her teeth you may clean them daily if you so desire.
Dogs: Generally, the age for neutering is six to nine months old, however healthy puppies may be neutered as young as eight weeks old.   Cats: Healthy kittens as young as eight weeks old may be neutered.
It is important to have your pet is microchipped as it will ensure the animal can be identified and returned to you if lost or stolen.
